Introducing "Aluminum Overcast"

Along with my brother, Wes, I toured a local airport today. They had the B-17 Flying Fortress, the Aluminum Overcast on display and we had fun checking it out.

We took a lot of photos for Lance Star: Sky Ranger reference. The one above is me next to the plane. Here are a few more shots for you to enjoy.
There were quite a few people touring the plane and participating in other events.

The Aluminum Overcast. Ain't she a beaut'?

Tiny gun turrets. No way I'm fitting in there.

Big plane. Had to walk far away to get the entire plane in the shot.

At 6'0" I just barely stepped under the engines.

This is a beautiful aircraft.

The patch and model I bought to commemorate the experience.

Flying off into the sun.

"Bombs away!"
You can learn more about this incredible flying machine at http://www.b17.org and http://www.facebook.com/EAA.B17?v=wall&viewas=0.
It was a fun day.
